The True "Natural"

THE OLDEST CONTINUOUSLY OPERATED
LINKS COURSE IN MICHIGAN

ESTABLISHED IN 1898

OUR PAST

Open to the public, the Les Cheneaux Golf Club began operation in May 1898 and is the oldest continuously played links course in Michigan. Early members of the Les Cheneaux Club (established 1888) developed and chartered the course.

OUR PRESENT

Enjoy a relaxing break after your round on the new deck with a beautiful view of the "Snows Channel" and Marquette Island.

OUR FUTURE

Just as our past members have preserved the course and the tradition for our enjoyment we must instill this value in the youngest members, this year we will announce two golf skills and course etiquette camps, classes will be open to all junior players.

course map

A place where sand, water, forest and rock are natural hazards, the Les Cheneaux Golf Club is traditional in its essential features. Play is to and from the water, and the land dictates the design of the holes rather than having a course imposed on it.

score card

Though changes have been made since 1898 (lengthening of some holes for instance), the character of the links remains. Many of the hazards are overgrown piles of fieldstone cleared from the original fairways and the perpetual natural hazards of forest and rock are still challenging.
